We invite you to participate in the latest project of a partnership between non-governmental organizations and institutions from five countries. It aims is to help seniors to discover the possibilities of influencing and deciding about his own health through information and communication tools (ICT).
The partnership, which consists of five non-governmental organizations: the Social Ecological Institute, MobilEducation, TROY Environmental Association, Tiedetila, and the Adult Education Center (SPES Zukunftsakademie) has been carrying out ICT projects for seniors for several years. They are tailored to the diverse needs and abilities of seniors in partner countries – in Poland, Turkey, Sweden, Finland and Austria. The subject of each project is different, but the tools of information and communication techniques are the same. You can not run away from ICT … it’s better to use them!
It is a necessity to accept the fact that our civilization is the civilization of ICT. For young people, it is a matter of course, a challenge for seniors.
Project partners want to convince seniors to use information and communication techniques through numerous activities, so that they can become independent in reaching the information they are looking for, actively participate in various events or express opposition or consent to policy makers. And so that they can make their choices of what is important an useful for them.
The results of the project will be ICT short guides for seniors that will facilitate the use of the iPhone, iPad, Android. Thanks to them, seniors will use ICT more freely, looking for information on health, ecology or the environment. The partnership will also develop a database of best practices for the use of ICT by seniors, and workshop participants will prepare short digital stories about their own experiences with ICT.
