Workshops for association REIPAS in Haninge
Finnish speaking seniors in Haninge started to learn more about smart phones and tablets in March.
They had both systems iPhone/iPad and Android phones/tablets and we decided to have 2 hours workshops twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.
After the introduction, as WiFi, Apple_ID, Google account, Siri, calendar, contacts we continued with communication. WhatsApp was a very useful app to keep in touch with friends and family. One of our seniors called to her granddaughter in Singapore by using Messenger. Navigation with Google maps helped us to find the right address.
How to travel in Stockholm, by bus and train? Apps like SL (buses and metro), SJ (trains), Norwegian (flights) are good to know. How to buy tickets, check in, use QR codes etc. It is very easy to update knowledge about foreign languages or learn a new language with Duolingo and Google Translate.
How to read iBooks/eBooks, newspapers, magazines, borrow books, look at TV, listen to different radio programs, podcasting, all these features will we go trough and learn in our workshops. Banking and how to send money by SWISH is good to know for a senior today.
