The 2nd meeting in Austria

The 2nd Meeting in April 2017 in Slierbach in Austria
Behind us the second meeting of our international partnership in the frame of the project “ICT for SENIORS ECOSYNERGY”. According to the plan, it was held in Upper Austria, in the small town of Schlierbach that has a 1100 years history. The meeting was organized by SPES Zukunftsakademie. There were representatives of all partners: Social Ecological Institute (4 people), MobilEducation (3 people), TROY Environmental (4 people) and of course SPES team. The meeting program was very intense: discussions on the project, its following stages, work on results, meetings with SPES team and seminar with members of Time Bank. The participants visited the Cistercian monastery founded in 1355 (in the buildings of the monastery there is also a public school) and the monastery church, considered a pearl of Baroque architecture. The Bernardine and Imperial Halls are the flagship works of the Northern Italian composers and the only objects of this type north of the Alps. In the monastery is also located a cheese factory, which produce cheese since 1924. Here one can see the production of cheese from fresh milk to readymade cheese delicacies. It produces 12 kinds of cheese. The Austrian partners presented in detail one of the projects implemented in SPES: Bank of Time 50+ – a very interesting initiative that facilitates the lives of older people. Initiators of the operation were seniors themselves, who found that there are always two solutions to problems: to wait for others help or to take matters into own hands. They chose the second one. Today 50+ Banks operate in Austria (in 30 places), Germany (in 20 places) and Czech Republic (in 13 places). Turkish partners have talked about the first day care center for seniors established in Canakkale, its main mission is to activate and integrate older people. The center offers rehabilitation, gymnastics, arts, music etc. The center offers also a course of ICT adapted to seniors need. The Swedish partners presented an original ICT training course for seniors: a basic course – how to use ICT in everyday life (3 x 3 hours) and course of programming for those who do not want to stay behind their grandchildren. The Polish partner presented its idea of building seniors eco-synergy – at local, regional and international level. The third partnership meeting will take place in Canakkale in September this year.
